Mini Group hosts two-day Data Protection training for cross-functional teams

Mini Group has completed an intensive two-day Data Protection training facilitated by Tenacity Business Solutions, bringing together employees from multiple departments and sister companies across the Group. The goal: build a shared, practical understanding of privacy requirements and empower group employees.

Participants covered essentials of the Kenya Data Protection Act (2019) and how it applies to daily work—clear consent and withdrawal, handling data-subject requests (DSARs), data sovereignty & cross-border transfers, records of processing (RoPA) & retention, third-party/vendor risk, and incident response & breach communication. Short labs focused on mapping real data flows, improving consent language on forms and systems, and stress-testing escalation paths.

Night, Talent Manager, reminded trainees of the Group’s core values:

Honesty & Integrity—we do the right thing, even when no one is watching. These values foster trust and transparency”.

This training reinforces the habits that turn our values into everyday practice.

Why it matters

Embedding privacy by design protects our people and customers, reduces operational risk, and strengthens the trust that underpins our growth as a Group.
