We wish to fill the vacant position of Data Analyst, on behalf of our internal client Generic Brands Limited, a fast-growing importer and distributor of Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) in Kenya. The company partners with leading international and regional brands to deliver high-quality products across retail, wholesale, and institutional channels.
The position is based along Kangundo Road, Nairobi, and reports to the Managing Director / Operations Manager.

Position Summary
The Data Analyst will play a critical role in transforming business data into actionable insights to support decision-making across imports, stock management, and sales forecasting. The role involves maintaining accurate data models, tracking performance metrics, and ensuring import plans align with projected sales and inventory levels to sustain efficient supply chain operations.
Key Duties/Responsibilities
Imports & Forecasting

Develop and maintain a rolling three-month import plan for all overseas vendors based on sales trends, current stock levels, and lead times.

Use data analytics to project product demand and recommend import quantities per SKU and supplier.

Collaborate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely reorders while minimizing stockouts and overstocking.

Track shipment timelines and adjust projections in response to market dynamics and sales velocity.
Sales & Stock Analysis

Collect, clean, and analyze data from ERP systems (Odoo, Excel, or other tools).

Monitor product performance, sell-through rates, and inventory turnover.

Identify slow- and fast-moving SKUs to guide purchasing and sales strategies.

Provide actionable insights that improve stock efficiency and sales outcomes.
Reporting & Dashboards

Design and automate dashboards for sales, stock, and imports analysis.

Generate timely management reports with key trends and recommendations.

Track and present KPIs such as forecast accuracy, stock cover, and import plan adherence.
Data Management & Process Improvement

Maintain data integrity across all reporting systems.

Develop standardized templates for data collection and visualization.

Support the operations team with ad-hoc analysis and strategic decision support.

Academic and Professional Qualifications and Experience Required

Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Business Analytics, or a related field.

2–4 years of experience in data analysis, supply chain planning, or demand forecasting (preferably within the FMCG sector).

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; working knowledge of Power BI or Tableau and SQL.

Experience using ERP systems such as Odoo is an added advantage.
