Vacancy: Front-End Development Supervisor
Contract Type: Fixed Term

Position Summary

The Front-End Development Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day operations of the front-end development team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality user interfaces and a seamless user experience. This role involves managing developers, collaborating with designers and back-end developers, and ensuring clean, efficient, and scalable code optimized for performance. The supervisor ensures adherence to best practices in UI/UX design and front-end technologies.

 

Key Duties / Responsibilities

  1. Team Leadership
  • Supervise, mentor, and manage the front-end development team to ensure the delivery of high-quality web and mobile applications.
  • Provide guidance, training, and professional development to team members to enhance their technical skills and productivity.
  • Set performance goals for the front-end team and conduct regular performance reviews.
  1. Project Management
  • Collaborate with project managers, UI/UX designers, and back-end developers to ensure that front-end development aligns with project requirements and timelines.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of front-end development projects.
  • Ensure front-end code is written according to company standards and industry best practices.
  1. Front-End Development
  • Work hands-on with the team when necessary to write, review, and optimize front-end code.
  • Ensure that front-end applications are responsive, cross-browser compatible, and optimized for performance and accessibility.
  • Implement and maintain reusable code and libraries for future use.
  1. UI/UX Implementation
  • Ensure that the user interface is intuitive, engaging, and aligned with UI/UX best practices.
  • Collaborate with designers to convert wireframes, mockups, and prototypes into functional front-end code.
  • Provide feedback on design elements and contribute to improving the overall user experience.
  1. Quality Assurance
  • Ensure rigorous testing of front-end components, including functionality, performance, and responsiveness across multiple devices and browsers.
  • Establish and enforce coding standards, style guides, and best practices for front-end development.
  • Oversee code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to technical standards.
  1. Process Improvement
  • Identify areas for improvement in front-end development processes and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Stay updated on the latest front-end technologies, frameworks, and trends, and evaluate their potential application to company projects.
  1. Collaboration
  • Work closely with other development teams to ensure the seamless integration of front-end and back-end components.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders across the company to gather requirements and provide progress updates on front-end projects.

 

Academic and Professional Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in front-end development, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong experience with front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js).

 

Key Skills and Competencies

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in front-end build tools (e.g., Webpack, Gulp, Grunt).
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and front-end testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Mocha).
  • Familiarity with responsive and mobile-first design principles.
  • Understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
  • Knowledge of API integration and web services (e.g., RESTful APIs).
  • Design, develop, and optimize user interfaces using Vue.js, CSS, Tailwind, and Bootstrap.
  • FIGMA design an added advantage.

Soft Skills

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with multiple stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for detail.

 

Work Conditions

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with deadlines.
  • Work from home and Flexi time is negotiable.
